The Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA) is located in the Raval district in the Ciutat Vella. This white luminous museum building, which was designed by architect Richard Meier, houses works by Catalan, Spanish and international artists from the late 20th century. It is surprising to come across this building after walking through the neighbourhood's narrow streets. Near the museum is the Centre the Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB), a cultural centre dedicated to the theme of the city and the urban phenomenon, which organises excellent exhibitions and is a perfect example of architectural renewal.
